|She’s part PR maven, part newshound...
She’s Elizabeth Borsting, a bona fide PR pro representing mostly boutique-style hotels, restaurants, and destinations; however, she’s been known to venture outside her comfort zone to handle such unique accounts as a luxury garage door company and a widely-distributed health snack. She began her career interning for Rogers & Cowan where she honed her celebrity-writing skills penning profiles for such famous clients as Shannen Doherty, Cybill Shepherd and a host of others. Since those lean years she has represented a broad range of industries including retail, non-profit, and commercial development. In 1995 she turned her attention to the hospitality sector when she signed on as public relations manager for the famed Queen Mary hotel and attraction in Long Beach, California. As the company’s spokesperson, she oversaw the property’s publicity efforts for the hotel, attraction, restaurants, wedding chapel, banquets/meetings, and special events. She also served as the company’s
talking head appearing on national and international radio and television programs including the KTLA Morning News (Los Angeles), CNN, BBC Network, KABC Eyewitness News (Los Angeles), Headline News, and the Home and Family Show.
Does she have the write stuff?
Absolutely! She’s an award-winning writer, too. While maintaining her position with the Queen Mary, Elizabeth pursued an interest in travel writing resulting in the release of her first book,
Celebrity Weddings and Honeymoon Getaways (Open Road Publishing, 1997). This led to opportunities as a contributing editor for
Honeymoon Magazine, as well as
writing opportunities for the Los Angeles Times,
Preferred Destinations, National Geographic Traveler, and
just to name a few. She has since authored six additional travel guides,
Open Road’s Southern California Guide (Open Road Publishing, 1999 – named Best Travel Guide by the North American Travel Journalists Association),
California’s Best B&Bs (Open Road Publishing, 2001),
LA with Kids (Open Road Publishing, June 2003),
Best of Southern California (Open Road Publishing, 2007),
101 Top Honeymoon Destinations (Peter Pauper Press, 2008), and
Best of Northern California (Open Road Publishing, 2008). She
was also a contributing writer for Los Angeles Explorer Guide (Explorer Guides, 2008).

What can she do for me?
Plenty! Elizabeth’s specialty is media relations, and she can introduce your company to the press through distribution of effective news releases, development of story angles, and direct contact with local, regional and national editors, writers and news directors. She can also position you as an expert in your field, create page-turning press kits, develop targeted media lists, garner press coverage for special events, work with the social media and blogospheres, coordinate press trips and itineraries to bring the media to your doorstep…and this is just for starters. She can also create copy for collateral materials, such as brochures and newsletters, as well as coordinate photo shoots.
